Khadki, a historic military town situated along the Mula River near Pune in Maharashtra, holds a revered place in Indian history as the site of the famous Battle of Khadki (1817). Following the battle, the British established an expansive cantonment that post-independence evolved into one of the Indian Army's most pivotal bases, encompassing major defense installations, ammunition facilities, the Central Armed Forces Vehicle Depot (CAFVD), and military research institutions.
It was within this disciplined, culturally vibrant cantonment hamlet that our visionary founder, the Late Lamented Dr. Philipose Mar Theophilus, envisioned an institution of exemplary character and scholastic rigor. His dream was to provide high-quality English medium education accessible to the families of defense personnel, railway workers, and the civilian community of Pune.
Named in honor of Saint Thomas, one of the foremost disciples of Jesus Christ, St. Thomas Public School was founded in 1989. Affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune, the school began with humble roots and has steadily grown into a premier beacon of secondary education.
